About Ridgeline · Since 2010

Family-Owned HVAC in Scottsdale for 14 Years.

Ridgeline Heating & Air was built on one rule: never upsell a customer something they don't need. NATE-certified technicians, AZ ROC #327841, serving the East Valley since 2010.

The Founders

Marcus & Tyler Reyes

Marcus and Tyler Reyes grew up in East Phoenix watching their father run a one-man AC repair route. The truck was always breaking down. The schedule was always overbooked. And somehow, their dad was always there when a customer called — because that's who he was. He charged fair prices, showed up when he said he would, and never sold a customer a part they didn't need. In the HVAC business, that last part takes actual discipline. It's easier to replace a capacitor than to sit across from a homeowner and explain that a $180 repair will get them three more years out of a 12-year-old unit. Their dad did the honest thing, every time.

Marcus went into HVAC installation after high school, working for a mid-size East Valley contractor where he earned his NATE certification and his EPA 608 license. Tyler took a different path — operations and customer service, managing dispatch and service scheduling for a larger Phoenix-area company. By the time Marcus was 28 and Tyler was 25, they'd both worked long enough inside the industry to see exactly what it got wrong. Call centers that transferred customers three times before they talked to a tech. Commissioned sales reps who ran service calls like a sales pitch. National brands that sent a helper when you expected a technician.

They started Ridgeline Heating & Air in 2010 with two vans, a shared tools inventory, and a simple rule: when you call Ridgeline, a technician answers. Not a salesperson. Not a dispatcher. A NATE-certified technician who has seen the problem you're describing and knows what to do about it.

Fourteen years later, the team is larger, the fleet is bigger, and the reviews have accumulated — 4.8 stars across 312 Google reviews — but the operation model hasn't changed.

Our Values

Four Principles. No Exceptions.

Every Ridgeline employee operates by the same four rules. They shape what we do — and what we refuse to do.

Honesty Above Everything Else

The HVAC industry makes it easy to upsell. Customers rarely know enough about their system to push back. Ridgeline was built around the opposite principle: tell the customer what's true, even when a different answer would make a bigger sale. That means telling someone their unit has two good years left in it when you could push for a replacement. Fourteen years of honest recommendations have built 312 Google reviews and a referral network across the East Valley. The math works out.

Technician Expertise, Not Sales Pressure

Every Ridgeline technician is NATE-certified. That's the North American Technician Excellence certification — the highest field competency standard in the industry, covering equipment theory, installation technique, system diagnosis, and safety. We require it because it's the difference between a technician who knows why something is failing and one who's guessing. It also means our technicians are confident enough in their diagnosis not to pad it with unnecessary parts.

Show Up When You Say You Will

In Phoenix's summer heat, "we'll get you in this week" is not an acceptable answer to an AC failure. Ridgeline's same-day emergency service guarantee isn't a marketing line — it's a commitment backed by the consequence that if we can't deliver it, your diagnostic is free. Your time matters. So does your comfort when it's 110 degrees.

Do the Job Right, Then Stand Behind It

A 2-year labor warranty on every job is twice the industry standard and it's intentional. It's how Ridgeline holds itself accountable for quality. If something related to our work fails within two years, we come back and fix it. No arguments, no fine print.

Credentials

What We're Certified To Do

Every credential a customer should expect from an HVAC contractor — and what each one actually means.

NATE-Certified Technicians

NATE (North American Technician Excellence) is the most widely recognized certification in the HVAC industry, testing field technicians on equipment theory, system diagnostics, installation quality, and safety protocols. A NATE-certified technician has passed a rigorous exam in their specific area of specialty — it's not an attendance certificate. Every Ridgeline technician is NATE-certified.

Arizona ROC License #327841

The Arizona Registrar of Contractors issues ROC licenses to contractors who meet the state's financial, experience, and examination requirements. An ROC license means Ridgeline is authorized to perform HVAC work in Arizona, that we've met the bonding and insurance requirements to protect customers, and that there's a regulatory body with enforcement authority if something goes wrong. You can verify our license at the Arizona ROC website.

EPA Section 608 Certified

EPA 608 certification is a federal requirement for any technician who purchases, handles, or recovers refrigerants. Improper refrigerant handling is both illegal and harmful to the environment. EPA 608 means our technicians are trained and certified in proper refrigerant recovery, handling, and disposal procedures.
